I did quite alot of research into the techniques the photographer, paul Jones used to get such harsh DOF in the shot. <br />
The penguins are 100% CG, Including Fur and shaders, which used SSS. <br />
I composited them into the shot then Dennis did the retouching.<br />

I used the Physx SDK for 3dsmax 2009 to simulate each scene, consisting sometimes of 60000 + Proxy Containers. <br />
<br />
The job was rendered in Mental Ray. <br />

I used a combination of Curve based deformers to position the Sequins and offset scripts to create the random effect. The text and Dancers where positioned by hand. <br />

20000 domino's at 12000pixels wide, it was a huge job, but went off without a hitch.<br />
we where really happy with the end result.<br />

I tried to focus on creating a fantasy based image with a contrasting scene scale by using atmoshperics and strong depth of field. <br />
I used 3ds max and vray to make the image with post work being done in photoshop. <br />
The Image depicts two Pixies who have found a map and are begining the search for where or what it leads to. <br />
Critiques welcome as i am trying to learn from the challenge, <br />

I worked on the ad as a modeling supervisor, I had two weeks to completely model the exterior , along with many internal components such as the engine, exhaust and drivechain.  <br />
<br />
To achieve the result all pieces where modeled as Solids to fill with realflow liquids.<br />
<br />
I am quite proud of this job as i have never worked harder to reach the crazy deadline as this one! ]]>
